[Pluto]

Softly walked the steps up
Indeed the path was now clear
As rain fell lightly on the ground
He marched on
Where to he thought
Not having a destination in mind he switched off
And simply allowed his feet to keep walking
Seeing himself move through the crowd in the eyes of others
He grew strong and quickened the pace
Raining hard now he

Calming right down
He left the party
Holding in one hand
Was a letter he had written to his father
Opening the door he laid it on the table
And asked out-loud if there was anyone there
The glass quickly moved across the board taking their hands with it
Spelling out a word and then some numbers
Suddenly there was a knock at the door
All eyes turned - he got up from his chair and opened the door
There was no-one there - then the lights went out and the group were cast in complete and utter darkness
As eyes adjusted and focused someone pointed to the corner of the room
What is that he asked
A tall thin figure in silhouette stood on a chair against the wall motionless
Total silence filled the room
Then it spoke - sneetzer unperwist ald zo ceefers - it said

The painting did represent a toy man
A face of a toy was construed on a canvas
In paint very easily applied without worry
The lines came after from an attempt
At another picture of a flag
That never worked out
Quickly into the shower before it dried
The paint came off
But the oil-stick pen lines remained
At the end the result was better an improvement
There are now three paintings visible
And also three layers of depth
The golden light of the photograph

As it has been given to us
As a program for us girls to like
Where it reduces our persons
into the base standard

You are being as harsh as he is 'interpretive'. Perhaps you could have asked him what he meant before you attacked his statement? It may not mean anything to you, nor strike you as poetry, but then neither I suppose would:

"Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogroves,
And the mome raths outgrabe."

- but for the fact it rhymes.

Worked out well for Lewis Carroll, though, as the opening lines to a piece cited as classical, if nonsensical, poetry.

That says more about you than it does about him, or his poetry... and is a tad contradictory, as you were still communicating with him after he said what you perceived as being "such idiotic statements".

Your answer just indicates you have more of the 'bullying bigot' about you than someone actually intending to engage in the kind of dialogue, that might open up something more revealing and pertinent to the topic being discussed.
