Interesting. Quite a few people these days never get past the attribution to read the content, let alone comprehend or contemplate the content rather than the source. For instance, a single word such as “Trump” can cause all rational faculties to instantly shut down and cause a previously affable person to begin gibbering, hateful noises that will coagulate into ridiculous proclamations of fantasy and belief. Such are the tragic effects of mass propagandizing. People act like they're under Pavlov's control these days, half a century past alleged North Korean brainwashing.

“The crux of the biscuit, is the apostrophe.”
- Zappa

What do you think that means?

I think it means that the apostrophe corrupts every Yes with a No.

Dada

Anyone can practice Dadaism when everything is absurd. The principle is to go through absurdity with equanimity rather than avoid the absurdities by attempting escapism. How to learn the principle? In an unorthodox, non-linear way. With a new mind to discover the unknown. For example, cut the grass on a hot summer day, only first raise the blades of the lawnmower so the grass goes untouched, nothing gets cut. Go through the whole process of time, sweat, noisy machine, gasoline, and be extra careful, but no grass actually gets cut. Afterwards, clean the mower, tuck back into storage, contemplate the implications of what happened without moving, in the shade, drinking a beer or two.

Once the principle is learned it can be applied within other situations, when appropriate.

It means Zappa was unhinged. The only way he ever made good music was by putting a thousand monkeys at a keyboard.

it is the biscuit's biscuit of course

corruption lies in the state thinking your biscuit belongs to the bureaucrats...

of course, the bureaucrats give you golden snow in return

Zappa was awesomely sane.

However, from your observation it follows that the focused, unwavering pursuit of absurdity, e.g., Marcel Duchamp’s visual dada, is without choice.

Here's the context so the little biscuit doesn't have to stand all alone, cold and isolate looking for a meaning to attach to.

Well then Fido got up off the floor, and he rolled over
and he looked me straight in the eye
And you know what he said?

"Once upon a time, somebody say to me"

This is the dog talkin' now

"What is your, conceptual, continuity?"
"Well I told 'em right then", Fido said
"It should be easy to see
"The crux of the biscuit
is the apostrophe"

Well you know, the man that was talking to the dog
looked at the dog, and he said
Sort of staring in disbelief

"You can't say that"

he said

"It doesn't, and you can't, I won't, and it don't
it hasn't, it isn't, it even ain't, and it shouldn't
it couldn't"

He told him, "No, no, no"

I told him, "Yes, yes, yes"

I said, "I do it all the time
Ain't this boogie a mess"?

yes, a little context shows those contractions are negative for the dog

but the apostrophe remains aloof

The dog’s conceptual continuity is yes.

The man’s conceptual continuity is no.

Each of their conceptual continuities can be interrupted or lost.

When conceptual continuity resumes, each is born again into a new world, but the familiarity of surroundings and memories of what's supposed to be can lull each back into the old dreams of yes yes yes, no no no, buried bones and pulled tails.

Your mama saw who you really are, and was warning you.

Did you listen?

In the realm of art many people infer many things. (Nod to the relativists)
Much can inferred from much, and as Sherlock taught us,
Much can be inferred from little.

Inferring with even less than Sherlock had to work with, is philosophy.

- By speaking, this dog has obviously transcended the limitations of Dog-incarnation.
- This dog knows that his personal, conceptual continuity is to be a conditioned animal.
- By accepting this reality, he sees the conceptual truth of his existence, and transcends the limitations of incarnate dog-nature, dog-nature being limited by the delusions caused by fear and ignorance.
- The dog is testifying that he has transcended his limitations by practicing: yes yes yes, and this is evidenced by the fact that he is now a speaking dog.
- In the song, the human has yet to transcend his limitations.
- He can only say, no no no.

- The dog’s awareness of this, and his action upon that awareness, is the effect of going straight through dualistic conditioning like an arrow to reach the crux, which is the essence of how.

This too is pleasant in a philosophical way.

Stinkfoot
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9FBQ1O5F8k
[Verse 1]
In the dark where all the fevers grow
Under the water where the shark bubbles blow
In the morning by your radio
Do the walls close in to suffocate ya
You ain't got no friends an' all the others: they hate ya
Does the life you been leadin' gotta go, hmmm?
Well, lemme straighten you out about a place I know
Get yer shoes and socks on people, it's right around the corner!

[Bridge]
Out through the night an' the whispering breezes
To the place where they keep The Imaginary Diseases
Out through the night an' the whispering breezes
To the place where they keep the Imaginary Diseases, mmm
This has to be the disease for you
Now scientists call this disease bromidrosis
But us regular folks who might wear tennis shoes
Or an occasional python boot
Know this exquisite little inconvenience
By the name of: "Stink-Foot"

[Verse 2]
Y'know, my python boot is too tight
I couldn't get it off last night
A week went by, and now it's July
I finally got it off
And my girlfriend cry
"You got stink-foot!
Stink-foot, darlin'
Your stink-foot puts a hurt on my nose!
Stink-foot! Stink-foot! I ain't lyin'
Can you rinse it off, d'you suppose?"
Here Fido! Fido!
C'mere little puppy, bring the slippers
"Arf, arf, arf!"
Heh heh heh... sick

[Guitar Solo]

[Verse 3]
Well then Fido got up off the floor an' he rolled over
An' he looked me straight in the eye
An' you know what he said?
"Once upon a time, somebody say to me"
(This is a dog talking now)
"What is your Conceptual Continuity?"
"Well, I told him right then"
(Fido said)
"It should be easy to see
The crux of the biscuit is the Apostrophe"
Well, you know the man that was talkin' to the dog
Looked at the dog an' he said: (sort of staring in disbelief)
"You can't say that!"
He said:
"It doesn't, and you can't!
I won't, and it don't!
IT hasn't, it isn't, it even ain't
And it shouldn't
It couldn't!"
He told me "No no no!"
I told him "Yes yes yes"!
I said: "I do it all the time;
Ain't this boogie a mess!"

[Outro]
The poodle by-ee-ites
The poodle chews it
The poodle by-ee-ites
The poodle chews it
The poodle by-ee-ites
The poodle chews it
The poodle by-ee-ites
The poodle chews it
The poodle by-ee-ites (Poodle)
The poodle chews it (Bites)
The poodle by-ee-ites (Poodle)
The poodle chews it (Bites)
The poodle by-ee-ites (Poodle)
The poodle chews it (Bites)
The poodle by-ee-ites (Poodle)
The poodle chews it (Bites)
The poodle by-ee-ites (Poodle)
The poodle chews it (Bites)
The poodle by-ee-ites
The poodle chews it
The poodle by-ee-ites
The poodle chews it
The poodle by-ee-ites
The poodle chews it

This tune is about the philosophy of Courage, i.e., living like a lion.
