Would nature favour beauty? If so, can we define it?

What is art? What is beauty?

Thanks Belinda!

Would nature favor beauty? A striking example is evolution through sexual selection, active I think across species as form follows structure and structure fellows environmental change. In sexual selection, the genders influence the development of each other and those examples that reach close to the ideal in form and function are deemed particularly attractive. Again this applies across species lines, another way of saying that fitness/health is the most powerful of aphrodisiacs. Beauty among the species is youth and refined adaptation, the best representative of a particular species form will leave the most healthy offspring.
