Dope.

Post by duszek »

People who check their emails very often, just to see if there is a new one and if so from whom and what does it say, do it because they get a small dopamine release each time.
The expectation and the surprise and the finding out what is the case trigger this dopamine release.

Other examples: checking the share prices so see if one is a little bit richer, gambling in a casino, checking one´s weight after a training, checking blood pressure etc.

What kind of dope works for you ?

Why would sportsmen use chemical dope and risk being disqualified if they can get dope in a non-chemical way ?
Is it because the dose they need is too high ?

different dope gives different "high"

the dope athletes use usually is to artificially enhance their muscle mass and strength, not necessarily for euphoric effect

This is a quote from a fellow member upon this same subject that I ran a thread on not too long ago. I think it's pretty profound and spot-on;

I find prolactin causes more creative thought, but both dopamine and prolactin are equal in suffering.

Thanks for the links.

And I agree with you.

If used correctly, the conscious use of prolactin is EXTREMELY helpful in many endeavors...including self-reflection & the objectifying of experienced philosophy.
