Your favourite song of all time what is it?

Mines this:

It's hardly my favourite band of time, or the best music of all time- but it speaks to me in a way few tracks do.

So what's yours?

Nothing wrong with a bit of Debussy.

I've changed my mind this is now my favourite:

Imagine Dragons: radioactive

Closely followed by:

Two awesome examples of where pop/rock should be and seldom is. :)

Am undecided whether to go for this too:

Just for the video if nothing else. ;)

Of all times ?

I would prefer a song of the day. La chanson du jour.

One candidate, for one day, present or past:

Bonfire heart, sung by a certain James Blunts.

Nobody offers you a shoulder, nor looks you in the eye.

Nobody at all, James ?
Or only one of those who happen to avoid eye contact with you because ...
someone riding a motorcycle could be advocating sex, drugs and rock and roll.

I like this one too,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urGHap53sgA

But it always puzzled me that there was a story that they were so stoned that they couldn't pronounce the name right, and they used the mispronunciation in the song but all the other lyrics are clearly pronounced. If they were really that stoned shouldn't the whole song be slurred and not just the title phrase. Sounds just a bit faked to me.

How many "all time favorites" are we allowed?

I like this one and the "Clair de Lune" because I can play them and don't need to look them up on YouTube or put on a record, or disc.

Did you know that Beethoven never knew it by that name, the name was coined by someone else 5 years after Beethoven died, he knew it as the "Sonata quasi una Fantasia".

That version is just a bit slow for my tastes, I'll need to post myself playing it on YouTube, when I figure out how to do it.

Can there be one song that is favourite during one´s whole life ?

Music expresses emotions and these change according to your age and sometimes daily even.

Or do you mean: your favourite song at the present moment choosing from all the songs you have ever heard ?
Or: the song that has impressed you most so far even if it is not what you prefer exactly today ?

For example:

A man can remember that many years ago he liked to sing loudly for a couple of years every day: Born in the USA !!!!! Born in the USA !!!!!!!!!

But today he prefers Beethoven´s the Fifth supposing at the same time that this passion will pass after a week or two and he will move on to something else.
