I can neither prove it NOR disprove it. And so it's entirely possible that the simulation-conception is a "real" or a reflection of our own minds.

In this particular instance, 2 reasons jump to the fore, although yank doesn't factor into either.

One: His use of the word “literally,” serves to specify finger practice rather than mind practice.

Two: Since he’s a comic, he uses the word “literally,” to signify when he’s being serious.

Three: Re: Literal obnoxiousness
That just might be his testosterone “act” he uses to goad the straights.
