Rap was appropriated by thugs.

However, this gives rap a good name.

Pluto, shame what they did to your planetary status.

You know, probably before your time, but once folks would say, let's rap. And then we sit around and the minds would soar fast and spontaneous and folks would ... rap. Didn't even need music. The cascading images and associations were the music.

Then thugs took over and boy did that catch on.

Know who listens to that shit?

Young white boys in the suburbs.

At least at first. They ignited the interest ($). Don't really know who listens to thug shit now. Thugs, I guess.

You know, I've heard the name of the group, and I knew they were popular, but I can't remember ever hearing them. So that's what that was all about.

I'm old school. I find that kind of electronic music to be quite repetitive and dull. I assume that you find it relaxing. Is the repetitiveness appealing to you, inducing a mild trance state? Does the mood resonate with you?

Interesting how people thrive on different "aural diets".

It was youtube that put it on following something else I was listening to - and I thought it sounded good. The visuals are not so good - a bit pretentious - but the guitar riff I like - and repeat is good yes - I also like the 'loop' in video - the beat is a bit like walking or marching, and the end is good because it's so final and abrupt.

I assume that’s more of the Beastie Boys. Once was enough. If there’s good there to be found, it won’t be found by me.

Although, the right words might persuade me to see it.

What caught my interest was the titles of the tunes that you had to link, in relation to John Martyn. If you know anything about his life and music, the video is understandable.

Moving higher, the man in the Martyn video is also the forgotten man, the man who lives in memory, not the present. I’ve known people who have lost their mates to death and circumstance. It is a powerful thing to witness. I can only imagine. We’ve all lost loved ones. This awakens compassion.

Moving higher, one of the greatest passages in the English language is about how we live in memory, for I can see the turning point with every change in the season.

Moving higher into philosophical principles … and so on.

And you should not care what the scientists say.
The ninth planet will always be Pluto.
