Depressing that there are such pretentious, unmusical wankers in the world.

That has nothing to do with a piano tuner, so deeply unfunny on every level.

Here's more of your favorite bassist, Jaco Pastorius, taxi. He's just foolin' around in this one cuz it's Joni's show and he doesn't wanna steal the stage. But let me tell you about this guy since you like him so much. You'll not find a better antinomy in the world of music. This dude was the Aristotle of the bass guitar, and yet he was a foul-mouthed, beer drinkin, redneck Mexican who was the most arrogant sonofabitch you'd ever meet. Some guy literally beat him to death at a club many moons ago because he wuz runnin his mouf.

Still I ask you, who can pull their pants all the way up to their armpits and still be the coolest fucker on the stage? The guy even kinda looks like a bass guitar if you think about it. What you gotta understand is that a certain degree of pretentiousness comes with being the best at something. It is a privilege of rank, sir. I mean look at Liszt or Beethoven. Total assholes, right? Well that's what you gotta understand about Pastorius. He did shit for the first time, even impossible shit that isn't 'sposed to be done. And he broke the mould in ways that can never be repeated.

People who are like shooting stars are not able to be like us, bro. They can't fit into our conventions and expectations of what a decent person is 'sposed to be like.... and the best we can do is express our thanks that they would even grace us with their presence, as bizarre as it might be.

Like Joe Zawinul, Joni Mitchell worked Pastorius into a number of her numbers, and Mitchell is the best they is.

Oh hells yeah! Heavy Weather is a superb album. Here listen to this one from 73. When jazz fusion musicians try to dumb it down and just do something simple and/or psychedelic: https://youtu.be/_msF73mVGG0

I agree that Joni pwned all the female singer-songwriters of the seventies and then some. She's my favorite female musician, no question.

If you haven't heard WR's 'live and unreleased' album, please do. If not, at least give the live 'two lines' from that concert, a listen. How the percussionists hold that opening part together and in perfect time....

Yo watch this chick play Teen Town, man. Like I don't even know what to do here I'm so aghast. Why is this weird post-modern freak with that thing in her nose, playing this song like such a boss? This has totally taken me out of my comfort zone, dude. But she killed it, man. I can't say anything.

Wait I know what happened. Her peer group did that to her. She couldn't find anyone at her level to hang with so she took what she could get.
