Re: Music
I love the whistling at the beginning. Good whistling is the most beautiful musical instrument of all:Walker wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 3:12 pmThis one is rather sad it's so nostalgic, then the orchestra opens the heart, and at the end there’s the hope for another episode. All in thirty seconds. Amazing.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 11:01 am
Some standout favourites from the very distant past:

Re: Music
You do realise you can put more than one link on a single post don't you?
Oops. I forgot you are a religious nut. Forgive my insensitivity towards the 'mentally challenged' (other-abled?).

Re: Music
'Why'? Why does anyone do anything? I just thought perhaps you thought you could only post one link per comment.

Re: Music
I think this is my favourite song in this universe.
Mazzy Star - Fade Into You
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FdP0eS47ts
I want to hold the hand inside you
I want to take a breath that's true
I look to you and I see nothing
I look to you to see the truth
You live your life, you go in shadows
You'll come apart and you'll go blind
Some kind of night into your darkness
Colors your eyes with what's not there
[Chorus]
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
[Verse 2]
A stranger's light comes on slowly
A stranger's heart without a home
You put your hands into your head
And then its smiles cover your heart
[Chorus]
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
Fade into you
Strange you never knew
Fade into you
I think it's strange you never knew
I think it's strange you never knew

per Paul Simon, he was the writer in the couple, but with respect to ya, i do view Simon and Garfunkel as i do the Beatles (and the lesser The Eagles - but still great - only less great than the Gods of Music).............the sum of their parts allowed a synergy of talent greater than their individual parts.
I LOVE Simon and Garfunkel, as i do The Beatles (and to a lesser degree The Eagles).
but do not value so much of any of the individual solo works from any of them.
many ignore Garfunkel as "just a good voice" - but I'm not so one of them. I do think there is a thing as "synergy" - folks in a group that are better than they can ever be alone.
Garfunkel was not a musical writer (not even a good actor - though in a few execelent movies - good enough to not ruin the movies he was in), but from just knowing he and Paul was so much greater than either alone musically, I just must give credit to Garfunkel in assuming he did give input/counsel to Paul in many of the songs they sang.
Simon and Garfunkel's works are simply too good to assume Garfunkel had no input over the years they were together - and esp when you compare Simon's works without Garfunkel.
-same for The Beatles - Paul/John solo works were a shadow of thier works as a group.
IMO I think Harrison has always been underated. per solo works think his is better than the other two - though never "the leader" of The Beatles - and still lesser than his contribution as a member of the Synergistic works of The Beatles. (the best "pop=rock" band of all time IMO).
thanks again for reply and link Walker.
