Zonder the Dust of Now
Zonder the Dust of Now
At the start of the 21st Century a blanket of despair has been cast over society. A new dawn has drawn a picture that can no longer be managed by those in power. In order to conceal the fact, a blanket has been thrown over society as a political act of containment. Keeping people confused and in the dark as to what is really going on. Values have come adrift and float away anchorless. The exhibition attempts to project a space outside the blanket. As a kind of deprogrammed zone.
This is the text for an exhibition I'm having. Can you see problems or weaknesses in it, do you have any suggestions on how I might improve it. Is the style too dry, etc. Thanks.

excessive metaphor. Metaphors are good, but I'd suggest you limit them so people can better understand, and faster understand, what you are getting at. Too many metaphors leaves people hanging, and people are less focused to stick to what you are saying in social circumstances (unless it's two people who know each other quite well in a conversation) than if they'd be reading it for themselves in a book for instance.
Re: Zonder the Dust of Now
Thanks, yeah maybe too many. Though I'm also wary of being too clear, too precise. Maybe a slow understanding is ok. It is not demanding you listen but sits back a bit until you are ready.
This is an updated version:

No, it's great what you say. It's good to get the feedback. Though, a dreary text is not so good. What was the cause of the text? Just seeing what's going on presently, politically, musically, culturally etc. At the start of the Century it's all come at once, war on terror, planet dying, etc. At the start of every Century there's turmoil, there should be a book where it describes the history of Century beginnings to see if a pattern emerges. Look what's on tv is enough to know that things are impossible. But the silver lining is the global protests.
What happens when I put the text in the past? It comes across as more fitting in a way, no?

I think I'm going to the printers with this one:

In order to conceal this, a blanket of catastrophes had been thrown over society as a political act of containment. Keeping people confused and in the dark as to what was really going on. Values had come adrift and floated away unanchored. The exhibition Zonder the Dust of Now attempted to project a space outside the blanket, as a kind of deprogrammed zone.

Agree
And a large part of this 'i think'
is because humanity lacks a goal.
To survive and be comfortable is fine.. but

At the beginning of a Century was there a blanket of despair that had covered the earth. A new dawn had drawn a picture that could no longer be managed by those in power. To conceal the fact, a blanket of pain was thrown down over society as a political act of containment. Keeping people confused and in the dark as to what was really going on. Suspicion and death ran through the streets. Values came adrift and floated away. The exhibition attempts to project a space outside the blanket, as a kind of deprogrammed safe zone.

a deprogrammed space of becoming
a deprogrammed space of ethicality (can a space be ethical as well as being deprogrammed?)
