Most of what you say in your post is outlined and detailed in the book. My son once asked me what was a good thing to collect, thinking of the collectors market and buying as an investment. I asked him what he liked and he said he was thinking of buying with the idea of reselling to make money, so I told him, "If what you really want to collect is money, then collect money in your bank account, and don't take chances on intermediate things." We all make choices and one of mine was for the kids, my wife had a better paying job than I, so I took off for the kids, driving them to and from school, soccer practice, I was 'Mr. Mom'. Later when my daughter had a child I took care of the grandson so she could work and later she went back to school and I was then taking care of 2 grandchildren. Ramsey's book was a bit late for us but it sounds like you did everything right.
Doc ,i did just about everything right, but i always felt like something was "missing". I've always thought that having kids would fill this void and would complete me as a person.almost all of my buddies & colleagues are married & have kids.Lately I feel, more than ever, a strong fatherly instinct. I have always wanted to have children, but never wanted marriage ,i've always been a casual guy,i enjoy the casual nature of things.

I'm sure you made the right choices doc,you sound like a good man..I envy you having your children and grandchildren nearby. I hope I will be as lucky! And I hope your son finds his way to success! Thanks
