Please expand on your assessment of another's assessment of the world that surrounds you but you refuse to look at if it is not through an other's, an authority's, eyes.
Try to use the appropriate jargon, like a good priest reading the text and being religious about it.

What is education producing these days, boy?
Same thing as any other institution, or factory: product for the assembly lines and the consumer shelves.

People join the line for the re-cycling department.

We need more name-dropping institutionalized minds who, unable to think for themselves, hide behind others.
You need authorization to pass judgment using your own senses.

Thank you for exemplifying the state of western man and of his precious edumucation system....the heal-all solution to all natural determinations.

In answer to the title question of this thread. I read that former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani has a philosophy degree.

Oops, I suppose that really is name dropping.

Mike Brearley not only has a philosophy degree but was briefly a university lecturer in philosophy, before becoming England cricket captain.

This information is incorrect.

He did not major in philosophy but Classical and Moral Sciences tripos. He was briefly a lecturer in Philosophy at Newcastle though.

If you dare to call yourself a philosopher, these days, make sure you know the proper names, the text, the general emaning, the jargon used....like a priest, know the scripture, the saints, the holy fathers....then dare to comment on a realtiy that lies all around you awaiting its intepretation with no other tool required but the senses and the human brain.

if you cannot then never dare to speak in your own words about a world you inhabit....and if you so cotnradict the common narrative be prepared to face the music, first from those who have spent money and time in trainnig themselves in exactly this repetition fo scripture, and who now have no other source of self-worth in this mindless repetition of other people's views.

Then, be prepared to wodner:
"What is philosophy good for?"

Well, if you cannot get a job teaching idiots to regurgitate, or you cannot find self-esteem in wowing some poor dolt with a seemingly casual mentioning of Derida, then philsoohy is worthless to you.

So, why are you here?
This is "Philosophy NOW"....or to traslate: Insistionalized thinking in the Modern, Current, Age".

Repeat the majority's moral preferences or be gone.
Because realtiy is decided by human feelings, and fears, and hopes and ...morals.

Degrees are anyways over-emphasized, as what university teaches isn't necessarily anything similar of what is interesting to the crowd of people or to yourself as a individual, though I see a very interesting-looking course in the above guy's list called "Philosophy in Cinema".

Anywho, I always think that the person who educates himself learns the most as he can transcend all the garbage they teach at the university.

95% of my 'eduction is self taught.

If i relied on the system to educate. i would be a low grade moron.
As most of 'the masses are.
This is not arrogance.

'1' knew exactly and the capital.

i in ten..

AS to the APS-115, what's the MTR, PW and PRF.

Knowing any one particular bit of data does not equate to genius.

Do you know everything?

Thank you!

Either you understand my point or not.

I see that you still stroke yourself, keep it up and one day you'll come,
to know not, yourself.

I have found you, you were easy to find, and it matters not whom ones buddy is, whether they know things or not. Everyone knows of things, my friend.
