You may disagree with him but you would do well to listen carefully to his arguments, because he will listen carefully to you before responding, in a way that chaz seems unable to manage.
Arising is a babbling clot.

Okay, I've not been following his interchanges with you. "Babbling clot" appears to be just the same kind of gratuitous insulting dismissal that you have complained of in chaz. If it isn't, you'll be able to point me at some examples of the posts Arising has made that you believe are babbling and clottish. Could you do that for me?

Add petty, (Chaz clone), to that list. But I see all three, i.e., babbling, clottish and petty, as purely subjective, and thus meaningless, as for one to speak of it, they presume a universal perspective, which doesn't necessarily exist, and so to consider the validity of their assertion and/or defense, one must consider alliances, or otherwise, to see their true quality.

But I see these as babbling, clottish and petty:

Arising_UK wrote:I think you the most confused dipshit I've chatted to on this forum for a long time. And that is saying something.
Of course I also see one being aligned with these three, if they argue colorful rag against colorful rag, which Arising is guilty of quite often, as I am of the world, but this view is beyond most of the day, I'd say.

I am not saying that I am not guilty of the same, out of frustration, because I have been, but that does not change how I see it.

Once again you ignore the context the above was spoken in. But of course this is not being petty, oh! no! Heaven forefend.

Still, for those interested, which I doubt, the full story can be read here, viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8756

I'd say it also does not make much sense. Try plain English as one can get tied up in ones erudition.

Unlike you I tend not to make apologies or excuses for my behaviour as unlike you if I see it and think it incorrect I change.

Well there are many and varied examples but the crowning one ,in my mind ,was his statement that he had superior academic credentials to John Gray.
He also added that Gray had never had a proper job which is a bit rich coming from a manual worker.
Arising is a buffoon and ,since it is said that you will be known by the friends you keep,
I suggest you re-consider your allegiance to this foolish individual as soon as possible.

And btw, most teachers would agree with my comments I think. All the teachers I have ever met have used the term bollocks outside the classroom.
All the teachers ? I suggest that you are skewing the truth to support your case, that you
are a normal teacher.
Of course, not all teachers you know , use this expletive to refute a statement.

Grow up, get a life. What planet were you born on, or are you still in short trousers?

If you want the security of the classroom then I suggest you go back to school
where you might learn a little more; most of which you will forget if you do not apply it: integrate it into your experience of the world - whence real learning takes place
Did you know that in the UK ,under the public order act, expletives that are considered harassment are a criminal offense?

Bullshit. Bollocks. Bite me!

If you said to a nurse in a hospital in the UK "you are talking bollocks" in all likelihood ,you would be arrested by the police.
Depends. If I told her that Plato talks bollocks then I doubt very much if any thing would happen. What kind of a moron are you. But do grow up and try to live in the real world.

I think it is fair to say that your use of this word is applied as derision and I don't have to put up with that .

Either put up or shut up. Stop whinging. You don't know the first thing about Plato, so why not go away and learn something?

 If you mean you can argue with chaz here without him throwing insults like a schoolkid, you are mistaken, TJH.

You may be interested in reading one of our exchanges from last year. My advice is don't take him too seriously.
I think you could have chosen a more colourful thread!!

Arising is a babbling clot.
If you want to bitch and whinge about other people using insults then you really need to stop using them yourself.
The irony is that you first started to get on your high horse when I insulted Plato, not even you!!

So apparently you'll ignore my reply in the thread where this came from but think it okay to repeat your nonsense elswhere.
The Jesus Head wrote:Well there are many and varied examples but the crowning one ,in my mind ,was his statement that he had superior academic credentials to John Gray. ...
Nope, what I said was that since I had a Philosophy BA and he had a PPE BA we'd probably rub along okay, contrary to your statement that he would regard me "as a philistine clot of the lowest water line".
He also added that Gray had never had a proper job which is a bit rich coming from a manual worker. ...
I'd have thought that in your little bourgeois world the manual worker would be exactly the person to say such a thing? But my point was that you had insulted the unemployed and yet you apparently hero worship someone who could be considered fairly unproductive themselves. Try this thought experiment, if we had to remove a class from society, which ones removal would upset the society more, the manual workers or the professional academics?

"allegiance" What a knob!

Try answering mickthinks point that you are behaving exactly as those you decry.

That is rich coming from the Queen of bitchiness and whinging.
As for getting on one's high horse I refer you to the comment you made to one here about using the Royal we. I suggest "overblown pomposity" is your trade mark and I see your bed fellow (possibly figurative but then who knows ...)Arising , is joining you in a little spleen venting.
It is satisfying to see how the puppets dance when the strings are pulled.

You are confusing me with SoB and Arising. It seems the 3 of us have all blended in to one, you poor thing.
I know it is difficult when you are under attack, but now you are just thrashing out aimlessly.

You seem to have misread and misunderstood Arising's statement, which I took to mean merely that his academic credentials would be enough to satisfy John Gray that he wasn't "a philistine clot of the lowest water line".

It does seem to me that you are in a very poor position to complain about the insults you receive from Arising and others. In this case it is clear that Arising was defending himself against a previous, highly insulting remark of your own.

Perhaps you could provide an example better calculated to win a philosopher's sympathy and support—that is, one where you have been insulted by Arising without provocation.

racism refers to bigotry on the basis of race

even if i did have an irrational bigotry directed at adults that would not make me a racist

of course there is as much irrationality in children as in adults, maybe more

and dont even get me started on teenagers - jesus fucking christ on a stick they are so irrational its not even funny

but adults - not children or teenagers - claim superior wisdom on the basis of making a few extra trips around the sun

it is this claim that i am attacking
