Representing oneself through someone else
Representing oneself through someone else
At times on this forum, someone creates a bunch of posts that are the writings of someone else, much as Dattaswami is doing right now... hundreds of posts, with minimal discussion and interaction... religious spam.
If the poster really wanted to present and discuss a topic with others, they would do so. If they, however, are blasting the forum with lengthy writings from a particular ideology, it looks to me as if they are getting their own gratification from speaking/typing the words of those they admire, and/or they might claim that they are in service to their particular god/guru. But consider how such "service" imposes itself, as it is rarely in moderation or balance. And consider how false it is to continually speak/repeat the words of someone else.
This is done in politics too: People representing themselves through the words or claims of someone else, re-blasting those claims or beliefs, and ignoring all to the contrary... political spam.
Can we think, speak, question, and interact for ourselves: what matters to us individually, what we've learned individually, what we think and do (based on what inspires us)... in our own words? Must we prop ourselves up such that we can only repeat the inspirations or claims of others, and if so, then what are we?

He is surrounding you in an ocean of goodness. Gyatso!
Surrender, it causes no harm and if you allow it the energy, it will not cause harm ... the benefits are to be discovered.
Be grateful for his effort; dance with the now rather than long for the not.

It might not cause actual harm, but it is bloody annoying, and when people get annoyed they complain. In other words, the reaction to all those posts is exactly what you would expect.
Re: Representing oneself through someone else
Says swami Walker, a major polluter who frequently spews his insane crap into the ocean of goodness.

In your case, Harbal Of The Crass Wit Clan, a bit of fumigation is in order before you take a dip in the ocean, in the interest of world environmentalism.
As your inability to take that higher has been stunted by habitual traipsing over the muddy low road, I withdraw the life-blood food that gives you energy, so that compulsion for your own failed wit may feed elsewhere.
In other words, you and Lacewing are forms of a quality.
You are not only carnations, you are reincarnations.

That's exactly what I expected you to say, Walker.Walker wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 7:11 pm

Re: Representing oneself through someone else
Apparently, you speak of that which you know well from your own addictions, yet have failed to transcend, yourself... just as you've failed in trying to project it onto us. You can't escape your reputation even if you must keep on imagining that each new day erases everyone else's memory.
Re: Representing oneself through someone else
That probably requires a lot of extremist behavior in various directions... both to justify prior comments (with more from Spewing Walker), and to be absolved of them (by Swami Walker).Harbal wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 8:55 pmCan you imagine what it must be like to wake up every morning with the realisation that you are Walker seeping into your consciousness?Lacewing to Walker wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 8:42 pm You can't escape your reputation even if you must keep on imagining that each new day erases everyone else's memory.
Re: Representing oneself through someone else
The last three postings, perhaps the last four, are excellent examples of the thread title in action.
'Tis and example of low-road persuasion by example of delusional assumption, apprehension and projection. Shirley this was also exactly anticipated.
Many comedy routines rely on the relationship dynamic of straight man and joker.

By the evidence you present, only when you gossip ... maliciously.
