Nietzsche on immorality in Twilight of the idols

Post by mahi21 »

In Twilight of the Idols, Nietzsche writes:
“Are we harming virtue, we immoralists? – Just as little as anarchists harm princes. Princes sit securely on their thrones only after they've been shot at. Moral: morality must be shot at.”
Can someone please explain what he exactly means by this arrow, only using other quotes and concepts mentioned in this specific book?

I am new to philosophy and reading Nietzche which is why I need help to write an essay for my class. I have searched a lot but wasn't able to find a source that concentrates only on explaining this saying with the help of the rest of the book.
