No wonder you are confused. When equating phenomena identity is equivalent to equality.

Equality/identity is a judgment. You are the judge. You complete the trinity.

No shit. That's exactly how it's defined. If there's a path (connection) between points A and B then they are equal.

It's in this book.
1. Equality occurs amidst different phenomena through a common medium which connects them. For example a dog and cat share the same quality of "mammal" thus equate, only through, "mammal". Equality is a connection, connection is a relationship, relationship is identity. This relationship amidst two different phenomenon through a common medium also simultaneously points to a contrast where one quality is absent in another. This absence is a void, this void is a contrast. For example a dog and cat are contrasting entities as the form of a dog's nose is different from thus of a cat. Thus we can say that identity is not only grounded in equality but also contrast. The context of identity as "contrast" points to identity as grounded in a singular event. This singular event occurs through contrast where the absence of one quality in one phenomenon, and its presence in another, points to the "presence" as a singular events. '

1a. Identity through equality is a singularity.

1b. Identity through contrast is a singularity.

1c. Identity is a singularity.

2. Without addressing the basics of any set of axioms the axioms are worthless...so yes "no shit" is necessary.

The basics are like this.

There are two points (A and B). There's a line between them - that's an equivalence-relation.

That is identity through equality with equality as a connection...it is not identity through a contrast. The singularity which results through identity is two fold, equality and contrast. We are already on the same page with identity through equality, we are just expressing it differently.

Identity through contrast can be likened to a square inside of a circle. The square has forms, ie angles, the circle does not. The circle has forms, ie curves, the square does not. Each set of forms that are not present in the other phenomenon are a singular occurance (ie angle A is a singular occurance, same is B, etc. and respectively for each curve of the circle).

This singular occurance is not repeated (ie angle A is different from Angle B due to direction) but exists in contrast to what the other phenomenon is not (the square exists in contrast to the circle, the angles are in contrast to the curves).

This dualism between one phenomenon and another allows for the contrast to occur and this contrast results in a singularity where identity is defined by the divergence of one phenomenon from another. A phenomenon emerges from what it is not, it emerges from a void of said phenomenon.

Identity is the emergence from a void of said phenomenon with this emergence being a singular state.
