Kids are being taught it's normal and ok for there to be a subscription model for everything. The most popular games are all about use of imaginary currency. User license agreements turn every device into a rental.

On top of which, when value is manipulated by hidden actors at every level, the cost of basic life stuff varies exponentially and rises arbitrarily, that's an existential problem for society.
