Redundancy

Redundancy
There is a difference between science today and religion.
Science is willing to make concepts redundant, whereas religion hangs on doggedly.
Light as waves in the ether is dated, and now the ether is redundant.
Religion creates or employs terms like soul, divine, mind, body, and spends lifetimes trying to explain their existence although some of them may be unnecessary distractions. The mind itself may be considered a function of the brain and the extended ‘material’ body and environment. Matter today, is not simply lumps of stuff in empty space. God is essentially the explanation for what exists.
If respectable religion hangs on to redundant concepts, it is no wonder that religious bigots simply retort ‘it is my religious freedom’ to behead the enemies of my faith.
