The Futurology of Fuckin' PC

Post by commonsense »

Before you bring out your arsenal of arguments about PC ideology, let's consider this thread to be about the future of PC, regardless of whether you embrace it or pine for its demise.

There are customs that were considered to be normal behavior in the past, that are now inappropriate to exhibit. During their times, whites-only restaurants, bathrooms and drinking water were customary in the southern U.S. Also, housing and school segregation were the norm just about anywhere in the States.

"Boys will be boys" was the common slogan of past generations, meaning it was OK for boys to take garner the attention of school teachers, at the expense of girls. It was OK for buys to get into fights with each other or into mischief in general.

Practices of the past have become socially inappropriate, even though they were considered to be acceptable in their day.

Now, Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer, White Christmas and others are examples of what many say are harmless social customs and are needlessly being called out for bullying and racism. Baby, it's Cold Outside is banned from radio playlists in some locales, due to its promotion of misogyny and rape. Really? Things have just gone too far.

In their prime, ostracizing, then banning prejudice and bullying were examples of going too far. No argument is suggested here that these no longer exist. Nonetheless, unsuitable conduct has been dampened, though not eradicated.

My best guess is that actions considered the norm today will be shunned at some point in the future. My prediction is that PC will flourish rather than decline. Civilized nations will trend toward greater civility.

Care to say more?

What folks?
How do they get wise?
Is there a metaphorical switching tool that applies here?

Getting rid of segregation in the US had NOTHING to do with Political Correctness. The Civil Rights activists put their lives on the line for a genuine cause. There was an enormous amount of personal risk involved.
Why is PC so difficult for people to understand?
Writing an internet blurg about the evils of a 'Little Mermaid' song is Political Correctness. Making school children wear rainbows to show they support the 'LGBTQPD....' 'community' is PC. Publicly shaming a well known man for pinching a woman's arse 40 years ago, is PC. As you can see, there is little to no personal risk in any of these enterprises--this is because they are all fashionable causes, and don't involve getting off one's own arse and doing something constructive and useful eg. speaking out against US brutality towards foreigners in their own countries (much safer to get 'offended on behalf of' a protected group, and do things like having Apu removed from The Simpsons).
What possible purpose could calling someone a 'racist' when it's patently untrue serve, except to piss off the accused, and show the accuser up as a projecting/deflecting wanker who can't put an argument together?
Feigning outrage over things that don't matter is stock-in-trade of the PC. PC is shallow. PC is disingenuous. PC is made up entirely of moronic hypocrites who yearn to be admired but don't have the balls OR brains to do something admirable.
PC is being a mob player. Being admirable is standing up to the mob.

"What folks?"

Those folks who currently endure the shit stirrers.

#

"How do they get wise?"

When they decide to stop endurin' and start whippin'.

#

"Is there a metaphorical switching tool that applies here?"

I was thinkin' of actual switches. Most of the shit stirrers never got a good spankin, I imagine. Better late than never.

#

"Have you ever had to empty a latrine's shit bucket?"

I've changed diapers, cleaned up vomit, unclogged toilets: can't imagine a shit bucket is any worse.

So, how will the risk-free feigned outrage going be faring in, say, 100 years?

PC is not civility or about civility. It's about gagging any dissent, and preventing ideas and humour from flourishing.

It is the duty of any rational thinking person, to step on as many toes as possible, when PC gets smothering.

So start stepping folks, we have many toes to cover, before we can breathe freely again!

Here is a simple stance.

1. One extreme alternates to another.

2. The one extreme right now is a promotion of women over men.

3. It will cycle back when women shoot themselves in the foot. No man will marry for sleep with them because of legal repercussion, and the ones that will sleep with them they will quickly become dissatisfied with.

The future will simply revert back to women slaving away at a desk, much like a kitchen, and the majority of men will just view them as irrelevant...not even worth being angry about.

Women will become irrelevant.

After all of this occurs there will be a rise in psychiatric problems, for both sides, as the overrouting of natural law will leave a deep sense of confusion for most. This confusion will be further premised in the fact we will need to create our own futures off of subjective and relativistic values noone can agree on except pure force as the foundation.

We will be direct perpetually into an abyss where hope is strictly derived from self creation...but this self creation never stops and we will be enslaved to it.
