IHRA
Why do people become so extremist when complaining about racism and anti-semitism in particular.
The IHRA definitions of anti-Semitism are, as they state, practical examples and as such they should be considered approximations of a pragmatic kind. It needs to be admitted that the various examples may need qualification to ensure they do not stifle debate. Whether a Jewish state should have been founded so as not to include those other non-Jewish semites that had been living there and to expand into other lands than those of 1947, is an ongoing question. There are more than two sides to moral questions.

Many see an opportunity to gain political advantage for their interest group by complaining about racism, so they do, as loudly and as often as possible. It's not an emotional response. more a tactic.
