Re: Human Intelligence
The fact that you are yet to experience the reality of the message of Plato's cave doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The fact that you express such dogmatic denial means you believe your human intelligence superior to those of Plato and Simone Weil. Doesn't this strike you as a bit egotistical?HexHammer wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 4:31 pmSimone Weil speaks nothing but beautiful nonsense and babble! Plato's Cave are 1 of the few things that still has a tiny bit of relevance today, but it's outdated since it doesn't really fully explain why the angry men kills the explorer, it lacks in modern psychology.Nick_A wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 4:47 pmThe fact that you are yet to experience the reality of the message of Plato's cave doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Unfortunately you misuse the Plato's Cave analogy, hinting that you are an unsung genius not recognized for your true brilliance, but that would suggest that your reasoning is sound which it isn't.
Re: Human Intelligence
Angry men always kill explorers. One day we heal and then we kill on the next. It is just the lawful results of normal life in Plato's cave.HexHammer wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 5:31 pmPlato's Cave are 1 of the few things that still has a tiny bit of relevance today, but it's outdated since it doesn't really fully explain why the angry men kills the explorer, it lacks in modern psychology.Nick_A wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 4:47 pmThe fact that you are yet to experience the reality of the message of Plato's cave doesn't mean it doesn't exist. How did I turn out being the genius? I support the ancient ideas that were really expressions of conscious genius or advanced human intelligence. My only advantage is in not being captured into indoctrinated denial. it is a step in the right direction but far from genius.
Re: Human Intelligence
The difference between a genius and a retard is that the genius can create more sophisticated things. In reality every being is intelligent. Each being however has different level of intelligence.

Hex, Do you have any heart felt questions which cannot be answered by your analysis? If so, why not? Why isn't analysis sufficient? If it isn't sufficient, does that mean you are lacking in human intelligence?

You've jumbled my post with someone else's. Quit it.Nick_A wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 3:40 pmcommonsense wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 2:39 pm Please excuse my ignorance, but as I review the posts up 'til now, I don't see anything that is not already included under Sternberg's definition. Those who believe Plato offers a very necessary description of the human condition for seekers of truth believe that human as opposed to social intelligence refers to the awareness of our potential to heal the human condition and leave the confines of Plato’s cave. From this perspective Simone Weil describes the insufficiency of social intelligence. Most do agree with Hex concerning human intelligence. They don’t distinguish between human and social intelligence so naturally define human intelligence in relation to adapting to social trends.
Social intelligence is necessary for a balanced personality able to adapt to and prosper within cave life. In contrast, human intelligence begins with the gradual awareness of the detrimental human condition as it exists within us. A person experiences that they have become slaves to imagination sustaining the human condition and social norms and seeks freedom from their attachments to the shadows on the wall. Social intelligence IMO is defined by the ability to adapt to the shadows while human intelligence is defined by freedom from attachments for the sake of experiencing what we are in relation to objective human and universal potential."The difference between more or less intelligent men is like the difference between criminals condemned to life imprisonment in smaller or larger cells. The intelligent man who is proud of his intelligence is like a condemned man who is proud of his large cell." ~ Simone Weil
Re: Human Intelligence
Is wisdom or knowledge a better measure of human intelligence?
The dictionary defines wisdom as “the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting.” Knowledge, on the other hand, is “information gained through experience, reasoning, or acquaintance.” Knowledge can exist without wisdom, but not the other way around. One can be knowledgeable without being wise. Knowledge is knowing how to use a gun; wisdom is knowing when to use it and when to keep it holstered.
As I see it is that wisdom is the highest expression of human intelligence. The trouble is that there is no agreement as to what it is so people are stuck with arguing knowledge within partial truths and call it intelligence.
