What is the difference between being confident and being an asshole?

I'm fairly confident you're an arsehole. But to answer your OP; hemorrhoids. And bit of sticking toilet paper.

For starters, insult-jokes are deceiving. Because it is unclear whether it is a joke or an insult, it is unclear whether it is motivated by confidence or malice. Rest assured: nobody who respects you will put you in a position where you have to make that judgement call. That is, insult-jokes are insults first, and jokes second.

Nah, you're just peanutbutter and jealous of my philosophical prowess. Hard truths are similar to insult-jokes, but they come from those who show us respect. How can I be an asshole if I show you respect?

Philosophical prowess? Is that confidence, or you being an arsehole again? (Be glad I'm staying on topic, joke or no joke.)

Being confident is knowing how good you are. Being an asshole is telling everyone how much better you are than them.

Someone who violates the rules of social behaviour, moral rules, rules of decency, fairness.
Because he thinks that he can get away with it.

Someone who wrongly assumes that he can annoy other people free of charge.
