We find philosophy.

We find religion.

We find art.

We find I.

What is this process?

Obliviousness, pain, distillation, evolution...

And we are all susceptible to this, often unrecognized, formula. Why?

How do we kick against - a misconception that we had?

............................... - an emotion?

............................... - a fear we cannot seem to escape?

...how do we kick against something inside of us that caused outer contrition?

Speakin' only for me: when 'life' comes kickin', it's never in the abstract and always because a person or physical thing is screwin' with me.

If I'm afraid, it's because I'm threatened by sumthin' or some one who can hurt me (physically, not my precious ego).

Kick back (or, in the case of a hurricane, run like hell).

If we look at the process in a natural sense, perhaps we can talk about it in terms of adaption/evolution.

Life kicks your ass; your shakey and unsure. You lose the foundations that make you strong.

Philosophy or religion seen in this sense offers tools to understand the ass kicking we receive. Gives us a hermeneutic lens to possibly even change our perception of the kicking, allowing us to strengthen our foundations once more.

Art can serve a similar purpose. Appreciate the aesthetic in life and you can see the beauty in the ass-kicking. Similar to what that .gif illustrates.

This allows us to kick back, internally. We change our interpretation of events, even past events, and we in effect have scope to change the event itself. Or at least, mitigate its affect.

YES! Validation has never tasted so sweet

Mind you, i was hoping for someone to drop a Nietzsche' bomb on me. Come on guys! Philosophy is no fun if we don't disagree.

We are our gods.

We can experience this through the practice of Organized Labor.
