Off-tracking does not just happen!

You're right, it is usually intentional, like thumbing your nose at someone you don't like, much like philosophy.
BTW, did I make the 5 word limit?

To clarify; use of words

'Moving' used as adjective to describe 'conversation' in general, meaning that philosophy can be stimulate brain cells and even change minds.
'Tracking-off' ambiguous, can be physical movement of e.g. posts, or jumping-off point to 'elsewhere' - another stream of thought.

The AS/M discussion started out, not particularly as a 'thumbs-up', but as an expansion of thought.
It inspired another thread to which AS very thoughtfully moved our conversation.

Edit: not 'thumbs-up', but 'thumbing-nose action'
