online meet-up?

Post by RachelAnn »

Hi All;
Would there be some safe (free of dangers) method of holding a meet-up live online? How might we arrange for an online coffee-chat some day? Perhaps those of you who are computer savy could assist with technological arrangements, in the event that some of you might be interested.
I am inquiring because:
a. my disabilities keep me home
b. my new laptop has a web camera itching to fly
c. it would be fun to meet Philosophy Now readers from all over the world

I am absolutely certain there must be technology to make this happen..

I know that msn messenger can handle one on one videos, and can handle mass groups in textual conversation.

I am going to do a wee search and see if I can't turn up anything..

Ok, a search on tucows.com (which is good for quality freeware) turned up Skype, which is something I have heard of.. I can't trial it on this computer, but I will try it out on my own computer when I get the chance

Download Skype from tucows
