Greetings from Scotland

Hi,

I'm John. I'm early 41, Scottish and although I work in IT I'm currently studying part-time for a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics with the Open University in the UK. My main interests, as far as the degree is concerned, are really politics and economics but I'm currently studying the philosophy element and have become some what taken with it. My tutor recommended I take a look at Philosophy Now and I've subsequently made my way here.

Happy to answer anything about myself and hope to share views in the forums.

J.

Welcome to the circus, John. I hope you find enough of us congenial to make you stay and help us to raise our game.

Thanks for the kind welcome. I'll try to be at my most congenial myself but don't worry, I've enough experience of Usenet and political forums to withstand boisterous disagreement.

That's good to hear. No need to be overly congenial, or congenial at all for that matter. We stand on no ceremonies here. I reckon you'll fit in fine.

:-)
