hi all,
A friend of mine posted a link to this group, and seeing an opportunity for an informal discussion, I figured I'd join. I'm currently pursuing my MA in a Religious Studies program (which is not a theology program or a seminary). My main interests lie in post-modern philosophy and critical theory: political theory, embodiement, ethics, post-Marxism, etc. It seems that many of you are up-front about your religious views, which I respect, and would not mind discussing. My personal views (to the extent such a thing is possible) reflect my immersion in a late-capitalist "Western" culture. As such, I have described myself variously as an agnostic, a non-practicing Zen Buddhist, a mystical materialist, a Discordian Pagan, an anarcho-gnostic, a non-teleological post-Marxist, a recovering Catholic (no offense intended to any practicing Catholics), and a Pythonesque Existentialist Satirist. I enjoy long walks in the woods, and off short cliffs; and I've never "not-been on a boat." Cheers!
