I'm pretty pissed off with politicians,
After corruption rule breaking flouting of standards and worse, they think all they have to do is apologise and everything is okay.

What is really bad is that tends to work.

There was once a time when they would resign.

I never say sorry. Sorry s an empty meaningless word. If I do something which is intended to harm a person then I should own that. If something I have done has inadvertently done harm then an explanation is forthcoming which would be a reason of my actions to show nothing was intended. Saying sorry would just be admitting guilt, and not an appropriate response for unintended consequences.
But One should always act in ways that could not invoke regret, as reret is an empty emotion.

The idea that an apology is a solution is simply a manifesto for cheating, as we have seen time and time again.
