I thought the conclusion of the article was rather fitting and relatively optimistic. Every era has its pitfalls and shortcomings. The current era will probably be little different. In any case, the world sucks, but it sucks no worse than it did at any other time. There may be heaven on earth somewhere for someone but it's not anywhere near me right now. However, there's a certain freedom in being able to find the faults in God. The yoke of Christianity is that of a slave religion. Heaven, the great gated community in the afterlife is doubtless little different from the many hells we have here on Earth. But I suppose the best we can understand anything is through the prevailing technology of the day we happen to live in. Such is life. Who knows what follows it, if anything at all.
