Chomsky is critical of Marxism. Marxists treat him as an ideological enemy. And the vehemence of the enmity of Marxists is inversely related to the distance between the ideologies (I think because distant ideologies such as conservatism don't appeal to the same anti-establishment constituency and so can't threaten their view that Marxism must be the only game in Revolution Town.)
Come the revolution, the right will be rounded up and shot. In the meantime the right are largely ignored and much energy is devoted to purging the left of non-Marxist heretics and their ideas which might compete for leadership of the proletariat.
