Flash Philosophy is a great idea it would be good if it takes off. The example mentioned throws out an idea leaving it open for further discussion.

The object could smell or create motion and sound through vibration making it available to the senses of smell, touch and hearing but without light it is hard to imagine it being available to sight. Its presence may be sensed intuitively if it had consciousness but that would still not make it available to sight. What mechanism that is non-sensory could make it available to sight? Maybe inner vision but that would also require light.
