Elements of Truth
Re: Elements of Truth
When it comes to politically allocating $2 trillion that magically appeared from the aether, some addendums are necessary:Philosophy Now wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 9:05 am Michael Baumann lists eight essential questions for judging the reliability of information.

1. What is the quality of the information channel?
- We have media giants to determine that. If the quality is poor, it gets erased, so you need not worry about quality. Recent example: Dr. Seuss.
2. Who is the primary source of the information?
- Any media source labeled Right Wing is not to be used or trusted, and there aren’t many of them.
3. Is the primary source of the information independent?
- No source is independent. A link can always be found to discredit the source. Even naming the source is sufficient to discredit the source. Example: The name "Fox News" is sufficient to discredit the information.
4. What is the intent of the communication?
- Currently de rigueur, to destroy capitalism and advance socialism in many ways, in all fields from hard sciences to social sciences and art.
5. How was the knowledge obtained?
- The source of the knowledge must have tacit approval of The Party, and if you have to ask what that is you ain’t Woke, bro.
6. Does the information appear to be complete?
- As long as it feeds the current narrative, that isn’t really important.
7. Can the information be independently validated?
- Experts can be found to validate many things that aren't true to reality. For instance, the validation of tearing down statues and burning cities erases the reality of history.
8. Does the information appear to be unbiased?
- Progressivism determines the meaning of phenomena. Whatever deviates from that measure is biased.
I know ... the humour is deplorable.

Re: Elements of Truth
9. Are the elements of truth worth the effort to ascertain? If information is to be correlated with reality, does it have to be true? If reality is determined by the consensus of many, it only needs to be popular, not necessarily true.
However, if Truth is of value to you, then you’ll want to know not just whether information is popular, but more importantly if it is true. Then it is worth the effort.
