They should do the thought experiment with a person instead of a cat. But I suppose the PC brigade would be up in arms....

That aside, the part that interested me was the incompatibility with classic realism. The part I didn't like was the opening line of involving a human observer, which sets the stage right away as to how the various interpretations are going to be found unacceptable.
If this were true, there would be faster than light communication.
