He seemed ahead of his time in many ways --- he tried to look at human behavior in terms of biological causes, which is presently showing to be a very productive idea, as none of the social sciences can gain any solid traction these days while ignoring biology. They are not reducible to biology, but biology is indispensable to their projects. Of course, had he written such ideas in the 1970s, he would have ironically been labeled a fascist, just like Edward O. Wilson was.
