Then why did you ask the question?
And worse yet - if you "don't care" then why were you dissatisfied with my answer?
Because he wants to have the answers.
I gave him my answer. He didn't like it.

I am not sure he knows what he wants.

Are you a moron? In response to your need to know, I told you I don't care about your answer to, Who Am I?

Too much mirroring will lose you the plot.

But I care to get at the reason for you asking a question you don't expect answered.

You could say it's my need to verify that you are capable of introspection.

He wants the answers that will make him feel something. Perhaps that special glow of "knowing"... of being better... of feeling sane. :)

It's hard to let go of such a need. Ego is constantly demanding "Who am I?".

I'm very fine.
I'm fine too. Thank you for asking.

I was going to try out the most important question but I figured just saying “How?” to people could be misinterpreted in this PC climate and someone might think I’m imitating a TV native American aboriginal, a mouthful that may, or may not, be the proper PC label these days.

So I asked “How are you?”

Like you, everyone said fine, and some asked me how I am.

And of course I said I’m fine, too.

The question doesn’t seem very important.

Do you think I'm using the question the wrong way?

You may be fine, but you're impolite if you're referencing me in the third person what with me being here and all, which you seem to be.

Were you raised in a barn?

Now I am with you.

“How are you?” It is a perfectly genuine question.

How do I answer "How are you?" is a more pertinent question and brings me back on point.

Fine. 42. Rosy. Peachy. I have a wart on my ass. Heart rate is 78BPM at the 95th percentile.

I never ask that question.

I am not a seeker.

But you do ask questions and so... you seek something.

Define important. Define question.

Oh and. Define "define".

Ah, I see. You are asking "How is it that I am (i.e. have come to be)", correct?

So, very honestly, I am not interested in such a question, myself. All I know is that I am here. In that way, I belong and I am a part of what is.

You're the one who said how? is the most important question.

You should have answered those for yourself, before you answered with how.

You can decide if the answers to those questions vary from, how are you?

Is how are you the most important question?

Or is it simply just, How?
