LOVE that concept. Philosophy in the Workplace. Philosophy in the real world.

Hey, here's another idea along those EXACT same lines...

What if Mark Addis shared his philosophy HERE?

That's right. What if Mark Addis took his philosophy here? To OUR workplace? To the LARGEST philosophy site ON THE PLANET. What if Mark Addis took his philosophy to the members HERE at the Philosophy Now Forums? To a place where fellow like-minded human beings actually discuss, and WANT to discuss, philosophical concepts & realities.

Matter of fact...where the fuck has he been?

Don't see him here. Didn't see Mark Addis on our membership list...

Hey Rick, why don't you invite him HERE? Since we don't have any direct contact with him.

Not that anyone actually invited us HERE. Our desire FOR philosophical conversations LEAD us HERE.

Just a thought.

Mark Addis is right. However I cannot see any need for him to appear on the forum as nobody has responded to his ideas.

The lack of interest shown on this topic reflects my own view of the subject in that there is no new thinking, only regurgitated ideas dressed up as new and sold to gullible managers by unscrupulous consulting companies. Surely some of the philosophers here have something to offer other than pointless personal attacks.

We have plenty of public intellectuals without commodifying philosophy to produce more.

Maybe bring the workplace to philosophy. Maybe it's where philosophy came from anyway.

I'm not sure that my post showed an intention to commodify the subject. My intention was to widen the debate. I would like to test my own theories against what has already been done before I post my thoughts.

OK, I accept you may be right there may well be loads of philosophers out there doing it and I am new to the subject, so where can I find good philosophical debate that follows through with the idea that philosophy can have a direct and practical role to play in the workplace?
