Rummagin' thru attic-boxes for sumthin' else, I found a copy of Gregory Stock's The Book of Questions (© 1985). There are 217 questions and 200 follow up questions. I think, *as I can, I'll post one daily, in the order presented in the book. A new question ought not end any conversation over an old(er) question.

*time constraints, among other things, already have me doin' things differently than I imagined...ideally, one question a day is the way to go...where I miss one or two or three days I'll follow up with a double, triple, or quadruple question post...considerin' the underwhelming response to this thread, I can't imagine anyone gettin' their panties in a twist over my missin' a day or three here and there

Most old people would answer no.

Under those conditions the only thing worth communicating is love, and the best telling of love is in action. One’s telling of love may not be what the other thinks of love, so ego figures not telling of love creates less risk of rejection, which for ego is more important than the other person. But, if these fears of rejection only result in unhappiness and unrequited love, then the only solution is to do an Opposite George. Do the opposite of the first inclination. Customary timidity becomes: never ventured, never gained.

One who has regrets has abandoned oneself, in this sense. If one does something that one regrets, or if one regrets not having done something, then one does not support the person that one was, and still is *. If one does not support the person that one is, then what one does now will be condemned in the future, by oneself, under the illusion that when the present becomes the past then one had a choice about what one did in the past, or did not do. Like it or not, whatever one does, or does not do, is the totality of that person manifesting according to all the conditions of that time, even those conditions unaccounted for, or that exist on the periphery of consciousness. Thus, regrets are a signal that one is living in an illusion that life is a dress rehearsal in preparation for some big show.

* This is because no one really changes, only conditions and situations change.
