The 6th Mass Extinction as Ice caps both north and south are melting.

Post by Dontaskme »

Evidence shows that a sixth mass extinction is occurring now. Unlike previous mass extinctions, the sixth extinction is due to human actions. Some scientists consider the sixth extinction to have begun with early hominids during the Pleistocene.

The other 5 extinctions are...
Ordovician-silurian Extinction: 440 million years ago.
Devonian Extinction: 365 million years ago.
Permian-triassic Extinction: 250 million years ago.
Triassic-jurassic Extinction: 210 million years ago.
Cretaceous-tertiary Extinction: 65 Million Years Ago.

Earth's 6th mass extinction event under way, scientists warn. Researchers talk of 'biological annihilation' due to human activity.

Humans are an anti-natural, omnicidal, unsustainable species. We have triggered abrupt, extreme, lethal and irreversible climate collapse. This will result in biological annihilation, including human extinction, before 2035, most likely. There is nothing to be done, except to accept our fate. Our species is a parasitic plague. We have killed our host. Permafrost and Methane leaking into the atmosphere. Mother nature is bleeding out.

We can predict the future by observing the present by remembering the past.

You provide comic relief. And DAM is right and well you know it. DAM is also right to put this ginormous fact on the table among us who sometimes don't apply philosophy to real life. Cassandra was not interested in popularity, but the wise Greeks held her in esteem.

Seems like a fair summary to me. 2035 seems a little pessimistic but close enough for jazz.

Oddly enough, I blame the philosophy department.

I don't disagree with DAM's analysis, I just think she could have presented it a bit more cheerfully, that's all. 8)

I agree; I was hoping to still be here a while after 2035. :(

Ahm answerin' f' Luxin, baby -- we're Ah (Ah'm him an' he's me). Befo' that, Luxin wus praisin' you. Ah remembad ol' Mista Lao in 'is magnum opus sayin' in Chapta 3:

" Not exalting the gifted prevents quarreling. "

Wut ma fool-fresh-outta-school Luxin shoulda said wus:

" Dontaskme, reporting. " skippin' da 'fine' word and not givin' ol' satan an in. Not dat Ah expeck dat. Jes' good t' be careful....

Okay, 'bout "THIS PLANET WILL NOT DIE" :

We an' a lotta udda creachus 'r done, but dere's allus a few creachus gonna be lef' somewhere, as d' Ark story implahs. We'll probly com' back; we probly cam' back befo' a few tahms.

At viewtopic.php?f=16&t=30021 (Luxin Chapter 25 This Planet Will Not Die) Ah sed :

A little bird told me that no matter what condition our planet gets in it will not die. Obviously many of us and other beings will suffer and die, but the planet has the power to cleanse itself over time, with life forms returning, regardless of the amount of damage.

That doesn't mean it's OK to pollute, which roughly equates with all people consuming poison at every meal. The Law of Karma has no exceptions. To the degree that we throw hell, we catch hell.

We probly cam' back fahv tahms, as yer tahmlahn suggests; we probly bin aroun' that long. We'r comin' back afta this sixth stinction, coz lil' pockets o' yuman beans lahk on remote ahlands will survahv. Dey'll survahv coz d'Earth gotta power t' cleanse an' rejuvenate itself more th'n we thank.

But ahr current batch's 'histry' as you suggest. God's sayin' "Hasta la vista, baby! -- you ain't bin nahce, tahm t' pay th' prahce." Ain't a big thang. Enjoy ya life, keep outta strife.

Take care now, baby. An' Luxin (talkin' t' mahself), you behave, baby.

I suggest anyone who truly believes this ought to set an example and eat drano

really hard to take such ugly assessments seriously when the humanity-loathers insist on retainin' their vile human lives

Humans have only two jobs to do on this planet.
1: to make a mess.
2: to clean up the made mess.

Everything else is nature’s way.

Those that make a mess should clean up after themselves. Or they could stop creating more mess makers, and consciously opt for voluntary extinction. That would be the logical sensible thing to do. Why lay your eggs in a nest of shit when you don’t have to?

Luxin..I never implied the planet will die, I said humanity will die.

Killing our host is cutting off our link, connection to the life support system that is the planet. I’m sure we cannot kill the planet, but it sure as heck can kill us.

Humans like being alive, so it won’t happen. Nature will do it for us in any case, and we’ll accept it, simply because we’ll have no choice in the matter.
