Looking for those willing to read

Post by odysseus »

I occasionally look for people who want to read a major work in continental philosophy, and want to share their thoughts as they go. Posting is fun, but it is far better if you actually read, and the most imposing texts are, alas, the most edifying.

So, if you are interested in Heidegger, Husserl/Fink, Kierkegaard, Kant, Sartre, Levinas, Derrida, Buber, Nietzsche, Hegel; I mean take your pick. I have read some more than others ( I haven't read Hegel much at all; but then, Phenomenology of Spirit is outrageous). We can read together if you like and comment along the way. It gives one the opportunity to write as well as read, and this is excellent for developing real philosophical skills: when you write, you have to rethink, paraphrase, interpret, assimilate, and so on.
