Re: What music are you listening to?
FZ, electric and clean versions of Duke Of Prunes
https://youtu.be/pMd3ult53XI
https://youtu.be/KQUkQxsadjI (so sweet)
I have to stop myself from tearing up when I hear the original clean one. Prolly cuz Frank's dead and gone forever. I wouldn't get teary if he were still alive cuz that would mean there would be more of this most beautiful music to come.

^^^
what u see in your mind is a crazy genius indian math professor working out an equation on a giant blackboard. each time he makes a run at it... his hand flying across the board, the fury of the chalk as he retraces his steps to find where he failed. over and over he tries, finally to fall exhausted into his chair, dropping his chalk.

Lol only Frank. I swear to god.
That's actually some kind of voice frequency technique that indian guy is doing in Calculus. That's not synth effects... that fuckin guy is making his voice do that. And imma tell u why it's so funny. It's funny only if u know who Frank is and how he thinks, especially his attitude toward lyrics and lyricists in general. So he would do something like that with vocal tracks that not only have u never before heard the likes of, but would never want to hear, either, if u knew what it sounded like... but it's too late. U heard it. And that's why it's funny becuz this is what Frank is doing; he doesn't care if the album isn't a smash hit anymore... he's not the least bit concerned with the success of it. At his age (at that time) he was just having fun with the new synthesizers that were coming out and making obnoxious and bizarre avant-garde jokes at music, especially various vocal caricatures that were tastefully terrible on purpose. What he's doing is laughing at the faces made by those who are unfortunate enough to hear it. Vocal tracks on Albums like Dance Me This were all for his amusement at our expense, as it were.

I like Nick Cave better. He made sublime art out of social deviance and iconoclasm. I can relate to Cave. Zappa sounds utterly monotonous to me at times. I often find myself waiting impatiently for one of his songs to end. Cave captures a human side to impiety.promethean75 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 27, 2023 9:23 am Those were two of the most horrible songs I have ever heard, G. Why would u do that to me?
