Mahavishnu Orchestra
Faith

So good. that rising crescendo perfectly characterizes the building commitment of the knight of faith, right? He finally surrenders, does the absurd, and impassioned by his anguish, his longing, he takes the leap. This is the sound of that resolve strengthening itself.
I dunno what happens to our protagonist at 1:09 tho. What was that... some kind of restlessness, madness, or a transformation into a state of joy? Why did McLaughlin start hauling ass on guitar right there?

Smile Of The Beyond (live)

skip to 4:25 where the band strikes up becuz you prolly don't have the patience to listen to homegirl sing for four minutes. i do, but that's because unlike you i am exquisite, refined, cultured, of good tastes... full of majesty and grace, etc.
11:45 for drum solo the real deal Narada.
seriously tho they nailed this one live and this one is a bitch.

Damn they got the mic too low and homegirl is drowned out. Her vocals there are critical man listen to the studio version. I hate it when these jazz fusion blowhards turn their shit up too loud like that.
