got back into The Doors recently after finding that double CD set in storage. they really were a great band man (I've got formative psychological adolescent developmental history with The Doors man). the chemistry, the time, the place. but that was the late sixties in general... the kind of decade bound to produce a few timeless pioneers in music. it was Ray the organist that held everything together and jim that drew all the attention. john and Robby in turn were well disciplined, well commited musicians you could rely on to write shit with.

anyway so I'm watching all these youtube videos and i wuz reminded of the sketchiness of his death. then i hear that along with the french not performing an autopsy and not informing the band, family or state immediately (even lying saying he was at a hospital) following the death, he was also found with his head on the faucet side of the tube. now who does that... who gets in the tub THAT way?

so I didn't even know about this conspiracy; that what's her name Pam caused him to OD. the story is that she turned him onto some wicked heroin at a club, drove him home and plopped him in the tube... then made up the whole story about him getting up in the middle of the night and taking a bath cuz he felt unwell.

i thought the only conspiracy wuz the faked death one. i can see that happening but not in this one. his head wuz on the wrong side of the tube bro. I'm sayin. Pam pulled a Courtney and did jim like she did kurt.

the greatest thing about watching live Doors videos is that you never know what you're gonna see that buffoon do on stage. but he knew that. i mean he was doing it on purpose, it was an exercise in creative writing so to speak. he played the dionysian on stage, knew he was playing it, but lost himself in it through the drugs, money and leisure time he had while submerged in the music and lifestyle. we could almost say typical rockstar syndrome but with jim there was something poetic about what he was because it was by design. hendrix and Joplin were genuine accidents. Jim's - and this is assuming Pam didn't murder him - was a destiny, a fate already written, a deal made with the daemon that gave him his power. he had always been fascinated or even obsessed by death - bands mates confirm - but not in the cheesy fake way the dumb rockstars do as part of their image. his was a philosophically informed preoccupation and (i think) an honest tendency toward a form of nihilism through the careless and excessive wantoness of his character. and remember it was the money that permitted all this. a dionysius can't work a nine to five and be a dionysus.

anywah he was already an old soul of 80 at 27. coulda been one of those dead indians he saw in the road sccident that he said 'jumped into my fuckin brain' as he rode by in the backseat of his parents car.

here's a really well performed song without jim acting like a retarded monkey shaman. I'm just fuckin with him cuz I've heard the interviews and know he isn't an idiot by any stretch.

oh and the night after Joplin bashed him in the head unconscious with a Southern comfort bottle, he called and asked to speak to her because he was impressed with the whole thing or something like that. lol i think he was just still tryna hit it. janice had a good year and a half where she had a pretty hot bod by those standards. serious find the one pic with her on the couch. shit, I'd hit it. bobby magee hit it. just get it from behind so you didn't have to look at that mug. I'm kidding she wuddint that ugly, but her body, and only very briefly, was her better attribute.

Bro I'm totally not gay or bi but wasn't he gorgeous in his early twenties? Seriously look at that face and that beautiful head'a hair. Ladies, am I right or am I right?

I know he was scrawny at that time but that does not deny him the androgynous quality that makes him so attractive in that sense. But really I'm talking about his face. Before it started getting more round as he gained weight and got pasty from the drugs and alcohol.

See he knows what's goin on @ 4:15 with the hippy culture being an excess of consumerist privilege and society's wealth. Ain't that the fuckin irony. An anti-establishment culture that is made possible by the very abundance of freedom and wealth created by the systen they criticize.
