Dear Gary and Commonsense:

I also accept your apology. Though your apology was not directed to me, I still accept it, since you attributed first my words to someone else, and then apologized and corrected the source.

Very nice. Thank you.

Dear Dalek,

I think we can get bumped on the nose by the MOD, and rightfully so, if we make private conversations on the boards. So let's not do that.

If you trust me enough (I do) send me your private email by "Private Message" and we can chat by email.

I can't touch you in PM (Private Message) on this service, because it is "disabled", that is, a switch is set to make it inoperational to contact you by PM.

I always thought philosophy was an individuals approach to life or a subject. I learned very late in life that it is a branch in science.
What attracted me to it was that it is "the why". That's right up my alley. Fits me perfectly.
I love science and "the how", but it is "the why" that really makes my heart beat. Finding the reason. Making the puzzle fit.

I'd answer that, but then it would get all squishy and personal lol. I'll enable my PM though.

I always wanted to be part of a discipline where I could sound smart just by adding “ -ism” to the end of adjectives and nouns.

So you are a dopamine addict.

Philosophy is a great way to get your fix without actually achieving anything.

So you could think of this place of a support group of sorts? Or a drug den. I can't be sure.

Either participating on this forum is helping our addiction; or we are heading for anhedonia.

Outwitting educated pompous unintelligent people. (shallow thinkers)

Kidding :D

What is a better way to test your own ideas, since there is no super intelligent AI around, why not bounce your ideas off of other brains.

Sure, but one cannot test ones knowledge of God\'God' via experimental confirmation with others. No, alas I am left to philosophise about it all.

You can't test anyone's knowledge of God. Full stop.

If it was empirically testable God would be a scientific matter.

You say philosophise. I say "untestable speculation".

I am truly curious though. If your ideas are empirically untestable against reality, what do you expect to achieve by "bouncing them [untestable ideas] off by other brains"?

Are you sure you aren't just trying to satisfy your need for human contact/interaction? (seeming as you mentioned you never married).
