Seleucus, you should apologize to everyone on this forum for your threatening bully behavior. Nobody is bullying you. You're making up crap and spewing it all over the forum. It's so irresponsible. You need to apologize and then shut the fuck up.

Probably the best way to handle this problem that has become the norm on philosophy sites teeming with intelligent sophisticated people is to alter the way you begin a post and begin it as you would begin a letter. But instead of saying Dear so and so, just begin with "Yo Momma Sucks." Then begin your post. This way it is unnecessary to insult anyone in the middle of a post since the insult was taken care of at the beginning.

So, when are you going to apologize to VG for calling her a "sallow hideous wench, cum chugging nasty bitch. You ugly monstrous idiot. You moronic ass. You precambrian sloth, you vile larcenous toad. You slut. You rude slug. You pedophile and rancid whore", exactly? Sounds a bit more absurd than anything I've heard her say about you. Just a bit. To be frank, it sounds more like she should come out to TIME magazine against you with #MeToo, because what you said was border-line sexual harassment.

By the way, I don't think you realize how internet archive sites work.
Seleucus wrote: Tue Dec 12, 2017 6:10 amGood idea and do that since I'd already asked you eight (8) times to stop verbally abusing me when I wrote that.
I mean, a whole lot was said by you, there. Lots of insults with pretty sexist overtones to them (cum chuggling, slut, etc) none of which address anything that has to do with how she's a bully. Doesn't sound like you did it to make her realize the errors of her ways. Sounds more like you did it because you have little control over your obscene, internal angst, and you let it all just burst out.

Which is fine, but go ahead and let us know. Just be like, "I, Seleucus, have many emotional issues and illnesses."

Blame the victim and more personal attacks. This will go on for a long while I can guess. No wonder few are brave enough to come forward against their abusers.

Hey S57, is Trixie trying to post but is getting deleted faster than he can be seen by me, or is he just gone from a while due to moderator abuse? He isn't like me, just disappearing for long periods of time for no explainable reason. He does in short bursts, but usually when he is struggling in making a decision he gets confronted with. I've only seen him post once in the last couple weeks.

I don't like this modern culture of PC discrimination where everyone embraces transsexuals openly then do everything they can to get rid of them. Saw it a lot in San Francisco, the gays don't even like them, most are forced to live homeless on the streets as prostitutes in the end, and I do mean the end. But everyone in the media absolutely loves them, never mind the two faced reality of brushing them aside and sending them off to die in neglect. He keeps getting squeezed out by the very liberals who play along, calling him a her and patting him on the back. If they ever put him before a execution squad to finally just get rid of him, they will call him a her and let him wear a dress before firing on him. It is a very, very cruel and bizarre world we live in. You can be even most discriminatory and cruel in our era by wearing a happy face and saying the right words, while doing terrible things.

Who is Rimshot?
It's the sound of a comedy drum fill. Apparently the higher ups at philosophy now don't want us mentioning dicks. It's a bad word.

I do not think she will be back since I told her that the mods delete posts and threads without notification
She has not been here for twelve days and I see mods have deleted thirty six more of her posts since then
I will miss her because I liked her very much even though most of what she posted was complete nonsense

That's just silly paranoia. I think everyone here quite enjoys Trixie's...ahem...eccentricity. But you should be aware that any mention of the 'p' word (misspelt or not) is the fastest way to get deleted or banned.

If you are experiencing abuse and cyber-bullying report it immediately,

https://www.stopbullying.gov/cyberbully ... index.html
http://www.report-it.org.uk/bullying_and_harassment
https://www.acorn.gov.au/

Verbal abuse and cyber-bullying are crimes and can be prosecuted under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and Crime and Disorder Act 1998.

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfr ... -abuse-law
https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/law-a ... arassment/
I happen to enjoy the banter and as a grown man if some troll on an internet forum gets abusive to me I just shake the feathers clear of the water of my ducks back, its just an internet forum. Now I see a major difference on social media especially for the young copping it online then copping it more back at school - i can see how isolating these poor kids must feel, and the thing is, kids are by far the worst when it comes to bullying probably because they havent lived life long enough to find themselves on the receiving end at some point in their limited lives, and so feel hard to grasp the concept of empathy.

I haven't called you names? I've said you are a propagandist for the far-right and as such support the white-supremacists and their racist agenda. I've also said you are a racialist, is this not true?
[ If you persist I'll send screenshots and the abuse report to the personal email of every name on the inside cover of Philosophy Now magazine. ...
Isn't this cyber-bullying ?

Go ahead, as if I give a toss what the interweeb thinks but my guess is if you do this you'll get banned.

What for? All I've said is that you are a propagandist and apologist for the far-right white supremacists and a racialist, do you deny this?

You cannot delete your own posts less they are the last one in a thread
So the ones that you are referring to were deleted by one of the mods

For what it’s worth, your perceptions of the environment are accurate, however the perspective of relevance is a bit skewed.

There’s a pretty high level of dishonesty and toxicity here. People grow numb to it, and in turn, become toxic themselves.

Your own outburst in response is quite understandable. Like you, I also noticed the climate when I arrived. A lot of bickering and backbiting. Lots of low-class, unimaginative insults suitable to a youngster beginning to learn the freedom of expressing oneself as filth and stupidity.

Not a lot of substantive content, just a lot of opinions and declarations.

I saw it as just a lot pussies being dicks.

Although, whatever was substantive was often brilliant.

Actual responses to content, rare as they are, become contaminated by the atmosphere.

So I figured, let’s see who wants to boogie, and started some vicious, direct attacks of my own. I figured, if folks want to be ignorant, then let’s be ignorant and not just play around. This involved a bit a name calling, some mean and nasty words, a bit of printed shouting, inviting folks to come on and get down in the dirt and let’s see what you got, rather than mince around with wasting time like some little wimp hiding behind a computer screen. Rather than half-assed ignorance, let's be be full-assed ignorance. Did it dispassionately to see what would happen.

It was like cockroaches scattering. No one stepped up to answer. Things got real quiet. Thus the old adage, punch a bully in the nose …

One finally did step up, one who actually took more abuse than anyone, and from most everyone. One I suspected who had grown bitter and cynical and yet showed signs of coming out on the other side. He suggested that I should stop, so I did.

But here’s the thing. It’s a big world, there are other places to go, other things to do.

Believe me, everyone here knows of the toxicity and lack of rationality. That you need to point it out, points to your need to point it out. Nothing more. That you participate with complaints or attacks of your own, also points to that need.

I think some, such as in the religious forum, are here to rise above the ignorance, abuse, irrationality, baiting, bigoted beliefs and unfairness that they receive, in order to come out on the other side by finding it within themselves to express kindness and rationality. The martyr path.

So, by skewed perspective what is meant is, if the toxicity really bothers, then the place to examine is one’s own need to participate in such a climate. For there is no one forcing anyone to be here.

When the climate and tone of the forum became apparent, I did a bit of googling and found some comments by the magazine publisher about this forum.

The design is: it’s considered to be a place of rejects, of those tossed off other forms, a place to not pay much attention to. Not necessarily a safe place, but a place for misfits to call home.

Form follows the function of the design. Participation thus becomes a matter of meeting the expectations of the design.

There is worth in seeing something through, and learning from lessons that take you out of what you think should be. However, once learned the lessons simply become repetition. It’s the map of understanding that says, do something ignorant ten thousand times and you will reach some understanding of ignorance.

Of course, not all assessments apply to all folks. There has been an uptick in content, but not by me.

I'm just here for the fun. Why are you here?

Admirable, however not in line with the founder's intent.
