An entertaining, 40-minute docu-drama about Big Education Corruption.

I see the Robert Johnson crossroads story. Marlowe’s Dr. Faustus story. The Paganini history.

The principle I see is a demonstration of the advantage to a solid grounding in the basics. This is why true academics who study original source material when possible, and other basic tools of their vocation/avocation, can take comfort in the scene.

The Ralph Macchio character is trained to play classical guitar. The old harmonica player was his guide to the blues, which included life-lessons in the journey which at the climax of the story included the life lesson that at the moment of truth little innocent-looking Ralph lost even the faith of his blues-guide, who turned away from Ralph’s mortal form, as God forsake Christ on the cross.

So Ralphie dug deep for his true refuge.
A large celebration ensued.

Siddhārtha Gautama was a true Renaissance man, long before the Renaissance became a popular thing and so-named, but that just wasn’t enough for him, was it.
thanks for reply - i value your view on movie - is 5 easy peices "good" or "great"? if the former i will not bother to pay my coins for the bluray - if the latter i will ((after investigaton via others view of the movie).

Good scenes, gaffo. I took down names, as they say. Jerzy Kosinski created the Chauncy character (Being There). Most of his stories are darkly humorous. Overall, his collection of psychological stories emphasize the triumph of the lone individual over the collective in ways that are strange for a strange world.

The Molly Maguires

Based on historical events. A favourite flick because it doesn’t propagandize right and wrong, good and evil. The viewer must decide. This scene shows the movie pacing that is consistent with setting and time, among other things.

Kosinski - Don't know of him, but will take a mental note of the name for future educaton. thanks you so much for this serioulsy/really.

per Chauncy, this character - what he represents is important, and the movie shows it - but i'm still not sure - lol.

H is a blank slate, and this si obvios and others fill him in p[er their own biases of self affirmation, but there is that one scence with the black women who gts mad at him for not having sorrow over the death of his prior mployer - then she "lets it go" - IMO understanding Chauncy is not "evil" or bad for not having feeling/ssorrow ove the dath of the man that she obviioulsy does ahve feeling for - but she has the wisdom to correct herself (she gts mad at him, then using wisdom and not emotion - understands his nature is just too limited to allow real feling - and so cools down).

that scene is the most profound in the movie IMO.

I gues if presed i would have the same viw of Chauncy as te black women maid and just forgive him for is lack via his nature to have real feeling - and then se othres as seeing him as an extention of themselvs, when he is just a blank slate (just as that black womn saw - she saw all of it).

thanks for reply Wlaker and thanks for the name drop - i shall try to rem his nam and inform myself of his works outside of this movie.

oh as per humor - BLACK - as in pitch BLACK (Bleak Humor would be more apt) would be:

and their 2nd best - Fargo is their best.

The Hellstrom Chronicles is another good "comedy" with a great script, and music (Lilo Shiff), and camera work - nice close ups of insects.
