Real academics can find validation from the meaning (principle) in this scene.

Care to identify the principle, or meaning?

Interesting, the vertical beam at 1:07, 1:13, resembles Christ on the Cross.

Censored by omission.
The state has decreed that children should not hear this story.

To Kill A Mockingbird - Atticus shoots a mad dog

Atticus is just about the most compassionate man they is.

The awareness of children, expands.
Frank Overton 10 times the actor of Greg Peck IMO.

BTW to your point, agreed.

Old Yeller must be banded now too - and such a great movie on all ways..............but must be baned for "feelings".

Lancaster one of the best of the best, recommend 7 days in may - where he plays a patriot but one with too much ego - enough to ignore the Constitutition.

noot a villian, a good guy but just wrong.

great movie - one of the ttop 20 of all time imo.

2 cent

first off the black guy seems racsit toward whites thinking Ralph is wet and not rythem (Ralphi s underratted as an actor IMO).

then Ralph show his chops and the old guy (seen him in other movies - like him - character actor) joins him on stage with his harmonic - so we ahve the melting pot - all men are the ame /brothers in spirit and fact

then alter we have Vie (I assume - heard the name only - don't know more) with his ego upstaging the stage with his guiter, and in fact spoiling the spirit of common bortherhood with his ego

then we have Vie dropping his guitar bacuse a sistake he made - so he chooses his fragel ego over the music and throws his guiter away. showing he places his ego over his music.

all others note this and then continue to play music, because music rules over ego!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

amen!!!!!!!

Interesting offering, Gaffo.

I see the Robert Johnson crossroads story. Marlowe’s Dr. Faustus story. The Paganini history.

The principle I see is a demonstration of the advantage to a solid grounding in the basics. This is why true academics who study original source material when possible, and other basic tools of their vocation/avocation, can take comfort in the scene.

The Ralph Macchio character is trained to play classical guitar. The old harmonica player was his guide to the blues, which included life-lessons in the journey which at the climax of the story included the life lesson that at the moment of truth little innocent-looking Ralph lost even the faith of his blues-guide, who turned away from Ralph’s mortal form, as God forsake Christ on the cross.

So Ralphie dug deep for his true refuge.
A large celebration ensued.

Siddhārtha Gautama was a true Renaissance man, long before the Renaissance became a popular thing and so-named, but that just wasn’t enough for him, was it.

They killed Old Yeller, again? Didn't know that.

That Gary Oldman is a good actor.
This is a movie of good dialogue.

It's a shame Rutger Hauer did not get the breaks.
He peaked way early with this scene.

Less Nessman ... bags of wet cement hitting the sidewalk ... my God, the humanity!

Interesting, I was living there when it aired.
