Articulated ideas.

Hollywood should know by now that folks are hungry for this.
Agreed - since around 1980 Hollywood lost merit of ideas/ideals (just look at all the remakes of prior masterpieces (all remakes also fall short of the originals).

"Brady" is of course William Jennings Brian - i do not know history/that man in particular - to know if March's character did him justice (I suspect it was not so - viewing that he was a populist that ran for pres as a conservative for 30 yrs or so (Hillary is his re-incarnaton). I don't know Brian enough to judge - but know enough of Billary to know i never like her.

One character is paramount for me - not their dogmatic beliefs (I as an athiest will support a fundie christian/Jew/Muslim/Hindu/etc of goodwill over athiest of no character that just happens to be an atheist like me).

I call all Believers - be it in Allah, Bramah, Christ, YHWH, or a Tree - that value character (goodwill/good character - demanding justice and valuing such) brothers - over any dickhead (like Dawkins/etc) - who are lack character but share my unbelief in any god.

I assume you are a Beleiver, i've noted your posts here since i've been here (you support Trump - as in germany the same did - most Nazis are dicks, but some were just good men fooled - i view you as the latter (not seen any post from you to show otherwise (that you are not good, and so I think you must have been fooled)))

I like you sir, and welcome discussion from you.

you have artistic sense - musical and movie-wise. I note such and also noted your character (which i think is good).

take care - and carry on.

Gen Scott loves his country, but has an ego.

He's not evil, just wrong in thinking he can assume the position of president when the president per his views is too weak to hold that office (F. March - same guy as Inherit the wind "brady"). also same as main man in original Death Takes a Holiday movie (good movie BTW).

Scott is not evil, just wrong, though a danger to the American Republic.

excellent movie - when hollywood offered character dev- instead of shallow black and white.

Kirk Douglass (over actor usually - think Shatner) - held himself in this one and was tops as a man of concsience - respecting the man he serves under, but brave enough to destroy that relastionship over his views of the ideals of our Constitution/American Republic.

Douglas is still with us BTW - so many are not - 99? 100? now? may he live a couple more decades.

If only for the song and Connery's beautiful voice.

The scene is where the 'retarded Afghan savages', who had revered the great and wondrous British man as a god, found out that he wasn't a god after all (because he had blood) and decided to kill him because of this. How ungrateful, after he had so generously endowed his British superiority on them, raising them above their natural savagery.

You're very kind.

There's still hope. :D

What an arsehole. And the accent doesn't go with the face.

Yeah, that's his character in this film. He's a 'psycho' gangster sent to force someone to do one last bank job.

Are you displaying a racist slant here Veg? I'll never forget when I first heard an Asian with an Australian accent. Face IT we are in a multicultural society where accents quite likely will not fit the face.
