Also now available on the Nook's UK store as well, so I'll amend the posting above.

Incidentally, the Philosophy Now edition on the Nook works really well on iPhones. It lets you toggle easily between article view (ie large text only, easy for reading on a phone) and page view (ie full colour, and all the pictures and layout from the paper magazine).

I'm new here and have a question for the moderators. I recently subscribed to PN via US Kindle. Does that form of subscription allow for access to PN's archived articles?

Thank you.

We've now launched our own app for iPad and iPhone, and it is available in Apple's Newsstand. It was developed in-house by my colleague Bora. I'll add details to the posting above, so as to keep the info about our electronic editions all in the same place. The direct link is: https://itunes.apple.com/app/philosophy-now/id676120508

Okay Rick, you can't say I didn't try. Even though I have a Kobo, I just purchased a Kindle Paperwhite so I could subscribe. Well, guess what? Amazon.ca does not offer your magazine! I'm going to say I'm pretty pissed. I shouldn't have to go sign up for an Amazon site outside Canada for this, when four other countries have it. Is my country garbage to you?

Aww, never mind. It's a good e-reader, anyways. I'm just disappointed. I was finally going to sign up.

Hi DP. We have tried hard to get onto Kobo but they won't reply to our emails.

It is true that we are not available from the Amazon.ca website. It is also true that no other magazine is available from the Amazon.ca website either. I have no idea why. I asked Amazon about this a couple of years ago and they told me that the only Kindle news-stands existing or planned are the four on amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.fr and amazon.de. Their other Amazon sites have Kindle stores selling the Kindle devices and e-books, but not Kindle magazines.

Not only is your country not garbage to me, but I am a very definite Canada-phile. If there was a Kindle magazine store on amazon.ca (or on amazon.au for that matter) I'd be very, very keen to get Philosophy Now included.

I agree that the Kindle is a good e-reader. One piece of good news is that you should be able to purchase Philosophy Now for your Kindle reader from the Amazon.com website. At least, so I'm told. If this turns out not to be correct, please tell me that too.

Amazon made a decision some months back that they would no longer sell magazine subscriptions. Therefore they no longer sell print magazines and they also no longer sell subscriptions to individual magazines on Kindle. Instead, they offer something called Kindle Unlimited, where you pay a flat monthly fee and access to a wide range of books, magazines etc is included.

For this reason, the Kindle edition of Philosophy Now has ceased to exist, after 12 years. This is a pity as we had several thousand subscribers to that edition, and it was consistently among the top magazines on Kindle ranked by sales and by customers ratings. We do have a whole range of other electronic editions, of course: Nook, Zinio, Pocketmags, our own website edition and our iOS app. You can subscribe to any of these. And then there is also the dead tree version, which is more popular than ever.

We are negotiating with Amazon about possibly including Philosophy Now in Kindle Unlimited. I'll keep you posted!
