On a deeper level, is the Law of Attraction based on the concept that everything in the universe is simply energy?"

That's the most shallow level, where you presume the fact you can have effects means you can directly cause or guide those effects to be what you want them to be Without an intermediate set of steps like everyone else has to go through.

In general I think law of attraction suffers from confirmation bias, meaning for those who use it and receive what they were hoping, they believe in it and it spreads. What you really need is a proper study with control groups.

If positive thinking and “visualising” works better than chance, there could be an effect there. But then, you need to determine possible alternative causes. ‘Law of attraction’ doesn’t actually describe the mechanism via which it supposedly works. Likely there are several causes, mostly pragmatic reasons why such generalisations might be more effective than doing nothing or negative thinking.

It’s pretty obvious that without actually taking action, no amount of thinking will materialise a desire, so it’s obviously not some mind over matter thing.

Furthermore, the usage of the word ‘law’ is misleading, as it leads one to believe that the ‘law’ applies in all scenarios and areas of application. So it’s more like a suggestion than a law.
