Why did you put up a link to just yet another 'ad'?

Fix your computer. It's not an ad.

It was NOT my computer that needed fixing at all. It was 'me' that NEEDED fixing.

MY MISTAKE wholly AND completely. So, MY APOLOGIES profusely.

The ad was about some older person who, supposedly, has insightful knowledge, so I just ASSUMED it was about the same person. Which is just FURTHER PROVE of WHY it is better to NEVER ASSUME absolutely ANY thing and to just REMAIN OPEN, until thee ACTUAL Truth is SEEN and KNOWN.

So, thank you for leading 'me' in the RIGHT direction here.

What this human being is MISSING is the True 'purpose' and 'meaning' of ALL-OF-THIS. They MISSED this because they were LOOKING with preexisting ASSUMPTIONS and BELIEFS.

WHY that human being is still wondering WHERE they are and is still finding that thee 'I' is still a 'puzzle' to thy "self" is AGAIN because they are NOT LOOKING FROM a Truly OPEN perspective.

What is the point of this ALL is OBTAINED, SEEN, and KNOWN, CLEARLY, when just being completely Honest and when LOOKING FROM thee Truly OPEN perspective, in order to CHANGE, for the better.

Just because 'one, like that human being, has NOT YET found an answer to, 'What is the point?' question, then that in NO WAY means NOR even infers that there is ACTUALLY NO point.

There is a WHOLE Universe, which is continually evolving, and there is a species of animal with enough intelligence to learn, understand, and reason absolutely ANY and EVERY, and which is also continually evolving, leaves the chance of there be ABSOLUTELY NO point AT, ALL to ALL-OF-THIS, on somewhere between ZERO to ABSOLUTELY. And, just because some of the previous ones of that continually evolving Truly intelligent species has NOT discovered and understood some 'thing' JUST YET, does NOT mean there it is ABSOLUTELY True that there is ABSOLUTELY NO point to ALL-OF-THIS.

Could a "basic" reason of WHY they should want to 'hang around' in this Life is because there is an underlying KNOWING that there is NOTHING ELSE, or that wanting to 'hang around' to just SEE what happens and/or comes to 'be'?

What it means that 'they' are going to leave is that there will just NOT be Consciousness anymore, from the perspective of what that body EXPERIENCES and OBSERVES anyway.

Contrary to what that one human being states and CLAIMS here, "this' is ALL resolvable. And, RESOLVED very simply AND very easily, I will add.

By the way, what is the actual reason WHY did 'you' put a link to this?

I enjoyed that. Thank you.

Out of respect for the lessons he shared from his long life, I'm giving him the appropriate contemplative time and consideration. I have no need to judge him by my known rather than the largely unknown him, because I haven't traveled his length of road. For the most precious people, the appropriate time equates to all that we have, but I only know a fraction of the unknown that he is even in death, so I'm observant for what will appear and relate to him in my daily adventures.

That's not a choice, btw.
It's because death has broken my heart too many times.

If anything worthy of the forum and thread appears, glad to share.

I was reminded of this quote by Finley Peter Dunne:
Many a man that can't direct you to a corner drugstore will get a respectful hearing when age has further impaired his mind.
I'm afraid anyone whose views on life were influenced by Jean-Paul Sartre, Sören Kierkegaard, and Sigmund Freud would sound a lot like despair.

Well, the first and the last one, for sure. Kierkegaard, however, is certainly not of their mind.

Interestingly, Fingarette does not seem to believe Kierkegaard at all. Kierkegaard is very different from Sartre in his Existentialism, and has very, very different conclusions than Sartre would ever have been willing to draw.

It must be that he was "influenced" by him, that he was only "influenced" in some minor way; if he took Kierkegaard for all Kierkegaard's worth, he would decidedly have not been despairing.
